Voluntary Work

Other than training and consulting, I volunteer for these three wonderful initiatives and organisations. If you are interested in collaborating with one of these, please contact me.

Every Wednesday at 19.00 GMT, English Language Teachers from all over the world log into their Twitter account and for one hour hold an online discussion on a practical topic related to teaching and learning English.

The aim of #ELTchat is to create a freely available social network of ELT professionals offering mutual support and opportunities for Continuous Professional Development. Since 2016, I have been honoured to be part of the moderation team.

IATEFL, International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language

For over 50 years, IATEFL has been linking, developing, and supporting English Language Teaching professionals worldwide. It is a global professional membership association and a UK registered charity. At IATEFL, we support teachers and other ELT professionals in their professional development and provide a platform where they can offer their views, exchange research and teaching experiences and learn from each other.

Since 2016, I have been a member of IATEFL’s executive Conference Committee, working with members of IATEFL Head Office to ensure that IATEFL’s annual conference and exhibition are a professional and financial success.

IATEFL Teacher Development Special Interest Group (TDSIG)

Formed by Adrian Underhill in 1985, TDSIG was the first distinct IATEFL SIG. To this day, TDSIG provides a forum for us to develop our potential as teachers, to cultivate our abilities to navigate the challenges and successes of being a teacher, and to invigorate satisfaction in our ongoing work.

Since 2017, I have been on the committee of the SIG, responsible for co-ordinating face-to-face events.
